10 Worst Bollywood Remakes

10 Worst Bollywood Remakes

The list of disastrous movies would go on and on but we will stick by top 10. We've witnessed some preposterous movie screenings at the cinema hall that were a total remake of a particular movie. Remake of a south movie is still fine, but when a Hollywood movie is adapted, there is some serious damage to the original movie. The authenticity and the aesthetics are lost during a remake. No matter how aptly they design a movie with respect to its original there is still a gap which they cannot fill. In certain cases where movies were remade from older ones, the movie made at that time had some ideas and beliefs which a director in today's time won't understand. It won't cater to the audience it wishes to because time has changed and so has the preferences and tastes.

1. Deewane Huye Paagal (2005)

#

This Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapoor starrer was a total flop. The film was an adaptation from the famous Hollywood movie 'There's Something About Mary' (1998). Film lacked content wise and to top it off Rimi sen was the leading lady of the film.

2.Aap ki Khatir(2006)

#

This movie is a remake of the Hollywood movie 'The Wedding Date' (2005).They could have perhaps copied the dialogues as well! The movies had in fact same scenes and cinematography. The only thing that killed the movie's essence was its star cast.

3.Dil Bole Hadippa (2009)

#

I think this is Rani's worst film ever. It's the remake of 'She's The Man '(2006), a Hollywood movie starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum. This movie witnessed the worst on-screen pair of all time.

4.Karzzzz (2008)

#

This movie is perhaps the worst remake in the history of Indian cinema. Subhash Ghai's' Karz '1980 was a cult classic and this Bhushan Kumar's Karzzzz is farcical. What made him think he would star Himesh opposite Urmila Matondkar in a film?

5.We are family (2010)

#

This emotionally unavailable movie was a remake of Hollywood movie 'Stepmom' (1998). The movie was so loaded with melodrama that there was no scope for audience to understand the plot.

6.Players (2012)

#

I don't know why people cast Abhishek Bachchan for an action film and to add to the trauma Neil Nitin Mukesh, to play villain in the movie! Rest in Peace The Itailan Job, the movie Players is a remake of.

7.Himmatwala (2013)

#

Himmatwala was a 1983 Raghvendra Rao movie starring Jitendra and Sridevi, which was a blockbuster. Sajid Khan's Himmatwala was a brainbuster with unbelievable and indigestible scenes.

8.Zanjeer (2013)

#

We don't get how brilliant the director of this movie was to actually make this movie and then actually cast an unknown (in Hindi cinema atleast) to act in the remake of the 1973 classic 'Zanjeer' starring Amitabh Bachchan!

9.Policegiri (2013)

#

It's the remake of the hit Tamil film 'Saamy' (2003) directed by Hari. This movie is the debut of a popular tamil director K.S.Ravikumar. Need we really say how awful this one turned out to be?

10.Bang Bang (2014)

#

Only a person who has seen both movies can express his/her angst! Rest all can 'bang' their heads.
