This Eid, we would see everyone’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan folding hands and kneeling down before Lord Hanuman, or as the world fondly calls him- Bajrang bali! But this surely isn’t the first time when a Hindi movie has given importance to the God, who is symbolized for lifting the mountain on his one hand. So let us have a look at those movies where the real Superhero of India plays an important part!
1. Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!:
When Shahid Kapoor returns back on Earth, as a spirit, after his death and is unable to protect his family from evils, Fakira BPCM (Bhoot Pret se Connecting Medium), played by Arshad Warsi, helps him get the powers to touch humans without being visible by preaching the Hanuman Chalisa and gaining the powers from Lord Hanuman.
2. Hanuman/Return of Hanuman:
Animation movie dedicated to the Lord himself, while ‘Hanuman’ concentrated on the life and times of the Lord from his birth and how he devoted his life to Lord Ram, the second flick ‘Return of Hanuman’ was a completely fictional and funny tale of how the Lord re-incarnates on Earth as a human to teach the evil men a lesson!
3. Hera Pheri:
Every time roomie Raju or room-owner Baburao Ganpatrao Apte doubted his credibility and intentions, Shyam used to hold his locket and say, “Sach Babu bhaiyya…main Bajran Bali ka bhakt hu”. Truly, every dialogue of this cult movie is worth remembering and its gets even better if there is a mention of the Lord himself!
That only God can defeat the Evil is shown once again in this hit horror flick where the lead actor refuses to step into Hanuman’s temple in the start of the movie because the society opposes him for being in love with a Christian. However, towards the end of the movie, he finally accepts that the Lord lives in him and the minute he accepts the divine, the evil vanish forever! The climax shows Rajneish Duggal chanting Hanuman Chalisa and destroying the powers of the evil spirit which resides inside his wife’s body.
5. Mr. India:
We get to see how the invisible Mr.India (Anil Kapoor) teaches a lesson to the English-man, who doesn’t value Indian Gods, and Sharat Saxena, who thinks of himself as the next God, by pretending to be the voice of Lord Hanuman and makes them all chant the slogans of “Jai Hanuman”!
6. Bal Brahmachari:
Puru RajKumaar plays a true-blue bajrangbali bhakt in this film, which also stars Karishma Kapoor.
Truly, Superman, Batman, Spiderman…Sabka Baap Hai Hanuman!
