6 reasons to watch Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma's 'Bombay Velvet'

This week, we have Anurag Kashyap's magnum opus 'Bombay Velvet' hitting the silver screens. The film's trailer already stole away our hearts after all vintage era on celluloid is such a rarity!

Before you book your tickets for the first-day-first show, we give you 6 reasons why you shouldn't miss this 'Big Shot' flick!

1. Ranbir Kapoor as Johnny Balraj

Ranbir Kapoor in a brand new avatar. The actor plays the role of a street-fighter whose dream to be 'Big Shot' becomes every man's nightmare. We are pretty sure you will love his 'dhishoom-dhishoom'.

2. Anushka Sharma as Rosie Noronha

Most of the times seen portraying bubbly and chirpy characters on screen, Anushka bursts this bubble with a jazzy act in 'Bombay Velvet'. She essays the role of Rosie Noronha- a jazz singer at the Bombay Velvet club. We must say, she looks quite alluring and mysterious!

3. Karan Johar's villainy act as Kaizad Khambata

You may have caught a glimpse of this man in some films (remember 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge') but now, KJo is all set for his big screen debut and that too as a badass villain in the form of a media baron. Watch him saying Main sab kuch apne liye karta hoon.

4. Anurag Kashyap- the man who conjures magic

Known for making dark and brooding movies, Anurag has ventured into commercial cinema for the first time. And going by the looks of what we have seen so far, we believe his magical direction would work wonders again.

5. The intriguing plot with a retro twist

When love, drama, action and revenge is rolled in a single film set in retro era, you just shouldn't miss it. Based on Gyan Prakash's novel, 'Mumbai Fables', 'Bombay Velvet' is the tale of a street fighter, Johnny Balraj, who aspires to be a Big Shot. But his life turns topsy-turvy with the entry of Rosie Noronha and Kaizad Khambata.

6. Amit Trivedi's musical masterpiece

The film is a treat for all jazz lovers and has some hatke music. Our favourites- Sylvia, Behroopiya and Mohabbat Buri Bimari Hai (Neeti Mohan's version).
