Since the time Aamir Khan's 'PK' released last month, the film has been drawing comparisons with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG: Oh My God'. Ask Akshay if he found 'PK' similar to 'OMG: Oh My God' and he opines, “I think 'PK' is quite different from 'OMG: Oh My God'. It has its own take on different religions and everything so I would not count it as a same kind of a film. It's like comparing 'Holiday' and 'Baby', both make the same point i.e. on terrorism but the treatment is different.â€
So what has been his take on the entire 'PK' controversy?
“I don't believe in it. Once you have your censor certificate no one can challenge it. If you challenge it's like court has given its decision and you are going against it,†claims the Khiladi actor.
Probe Kumar about the reports which said that Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan had offered him 9 crores to shelve the shooting of 'OMG: Oh My God' to which he clarifies, “Aamir Khan never offered 9 crores to me or my director to stop 'Oh My God'. These are all baseless reports.â€
Interestingly, while 'OMG: Oh My God' received lot of critical acclaim, 'PK' got lot of flak from the audience. Will this lead to toning down of 'OMG: Oh My God' sequel?
“Why should it be toned down? What is fact is fact and that's it. We are here to talk facts and why should we be shy about it? I feel the meaning of MANDIR (Temple) is Mann Ke Andar (Inside ones heart). I am not saying god does not exist, but all what I am saying is there is no need to go to god to pray, he is near you in your heart so just do that and use the money you are spending to go to temple to help someone poor,†states Akshay.
Going with the theme of 'OMG: Oh My God', will the makers of 'OMG: Oh My God 2' throw some light on the religious mal practices of other religions too?
“I don't know. In fact I don't even know if we are making 'Oh My God 2' or no. We don't have a script as of now,†concluded Akshay.
