Bigg Boss ke Host aur Dost

Bigg Boss ke Host aur Dost

Last week saw the handsome hunk and most popular Bigg Boss host Salman Khan handing over the responsibility to director Farah Khan. And yes, his presence was terribly missed in Sunday's episode. But this not the first time we are having a new Bigg Boss host. Those who have been following Bigg Boss since the very first season know how many hosts there have been, don't you?

So we bring to you the list of all the talented and humorous celebrities who have hosted Bigg Boss.

1. Arshad Warsi- Season 1:

arshad warsi

Bigg Boss was a new concept, borrowed from its international versions, in India. People were excited about the show. And their host for the season was the charming and funny Arshad Warsi who had been basking in the newfound success of his films 'Munnabhai MBBS' and 'Golmaal'. He had earned the tag of being witty and as the show progressed, we knew he was the apt choice for Bigg Boss. He set an example for the other season's hosts. The winner for the season was actor Rahul Roy.

2. Shilpa Shetty- Season 2:

shilpa shetty

Shilpa Shetty was surely the flavor of the season. She had made India proud by winning the international version of Bigg Boss- 'Celebrity Big Brother' in UK. This made her the much-obvious celebrity who would replace Arshad Warsi and bring more views to the second season. The second season got famous for verbal spats and romantic encounters between contestants than the once-a-week-appearing Shilpa Shetty. Though Shilpa was at her charming best, she failed to strike a chord amongst the audiences. The winner for the season was model Ashutosh Kaushik.

3. Amitabh Bachchan- Season 3:

amitabh bachchan

Bigg Boss had surely made a progress when the Shahenshah of Bollywood agreed to host the third season. He is the reason behind KBC's success. And he was back in business to make Bigg Boss another big success. Who can forget his dynamic entry and the way he hosted the entire season? He was witty as well as serious where required. Given his stature in Bollywood, all the contestants feared as well as respected him. Though, because of the previous season being tagged as inappropriate for the family audience, many questioned Big B's choice. The winner of the show was actor Vindoo Dara Singh. Not to forget, the season made KRK a household name, who still haunts people with his twitter account.

4. Salman Khan- Season 4,5,6,7 and 8:

salman khan

Salman started hosting Bigg Boss at a time when his stars were way too lucky. After years of bad career phase, he had again become the hot favorite of the Indian audience. And surely, the makers of Bigg Boss did not leave the opportunity. He started his journey as the Bigg Boss host in the 4th season. This made season 4th the highest TRP-garnering season for Bigg Boss, given Salman's popularity. He had developed a unique style for hosting the show and was praised by all for his humour and ability to handle all kinds of situations. And only a fool would have let Salman go during such times. Hence, he was called back to host the 5th season too, along with Sanjay Dutt. Though he appeared very less during the weekends due to his shooting schedules, and his absence was filled by Dutt. After the failed formula of two hosts, the 6th season had only Salman taking up the reign of hosting the season.

Season 7 saw a bit of a downfall for Salman, who usually gets rough on contestants for their bad behavior. He was tagged as being partial towards certain contestants and targeting only a few selected. Due to these controversies, Salman declared that it would be his last as the Bigg Boss host.

But to the relief of everyone, he came back again as the host of Bigg Boss 8, which is currently on-air. We saw him back in his own avatar without being bothered of any controversies. Sadly, due to a month-long extension of the show and Salman's dates been given to a movie, he left the show last week handing over the responsibility to Farah Khan.

Oh yes, we miss his “Hello Namaste, Assalamwaleykum, Sasriyakal, Kemcho..” and “Do whatever you want to do man!”. We miss his chemistry with the never-smiling jallad. Truly, the best host of Bigg Boss till date.

5. Sanjay Dutt- Season 5:

sanjay dutt

Sanjay Dutt hosted the 5th season along with Salman Khan. The promos promised a rib-tickling chemistry between the two which sadly wasn't seen as Salman was seen very less during the weekends. On the other hand, Dutt was termed for being under pressure to match up to the standards of Salman Khan. Nevertheless, Dutt was at his best too and hosted the season with maturity.

6. Farah Khan- Season 8:

farah khan

With a one month extension to Bigg Boss Season 8, Salman Khan handed over the responsibility of hosting the show to the self-confessed Bigg Boss fan Farah Khan. Sunday's episode saw her trying hard to match the charm and fun that Salman provided. We even saw a few of her jokes falling flat. Never the less, we hope with time she would emerge as a good host for this month.

Also, co-incidentally, every season hosted by Salman had a female winner. With Farah now stepping into his shoes, we are curious to know who wins this season!

With Salman promising to return, we are wondering if it would be on this season's finale or the next season! Let's hope Farah does justice to her part.

Signing off for today and till then, do whatever you want to do man!
