Birthday Special: 6 Films Of Riteish Deshmukh That Impressed Us!

17th December marks the birthday of one of the most adored actors of Bollywood, Riteish Deshmukh. An actor, who has always entertained and made us laugh with his brilliant comic timing. He has also become an active part in the promotion of the Marathi film industry and his production house has given Marathi films wide recognition and fame.

Born to ex-chief Minister of Maharashtra, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, Riteish married actress Genelia D'souza and recently became a father.

Let us look at some of the challenging roles done by him that made him a public favorite.

Masti:

At the very start of his career, Riteish chose to do two sex comedies, a genre that wasn't much appreciated at that time. The first one was 'Masti'. His performance was appreciated by all and gave him the recognition as a comic actor.

Kya Kool Hai Hum:

Another adult comedy that made Riteish the official star of adult comedies. His performance was appreciated by all, though the movie was panned by the critics. Both 'Masti' and 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' had sequels that kept his tag of 'adult comedy star' going. Sadly, with fatherhood, he has decided to stay away from such movies and do 'clean' movies instead.

Apna Sapna Money Money:

Riteish's performance was highly praised for playing a man who can disguise himself into any character. Be it a lady or an old man, he played all the characters with ease and charm.

After a long list of comedies and a few serious role attempts, Riteish appeared on-screen with Genelia D'souza in an out-and-out romantic-comedy. The movie was a commercial hit and was loved by all. His performance in a romantic role and his chemistry with Genelia was much appreciated.

Ek Villain:

After proving his mettle in light-hearted role, Riteish went on to shock the audience by playing the antagonist. Right from the first trailer to the release of the film, there was much hype around his performance and he did manage to steal the show. His performance was appreciated by all and proved his versatility in a darker-than-usual role.

Lai Bhaari:

His debut into Marathi movies and what a grand debut! The highest grossing Marathi movie and a perfect masala entertainer. The movie has been winning several awards and with the release, Riteish earned respect from the Marathi Manoos for promoting Marathi cinema.

This year saw Riteish in three movies and he was the highlight and the show-stealer in all the three of them. Surely, he has been the game changer of the year and with the birth of his new child, things seem to be getting bigger and better for the birthday boy both professionally and personally.

Here's wishing him lots of luck and love on his birthday.
