When it comes to their acting chops and choice of movies, Sharman Joshi and Arjun Kapoor stand poles apart.
Sharman, who belongs to a family of theatre artists, made his Bollywood debut back in 1999 with the Shabana Azmi starrer ‘Godmother’ and gained popularity in the early 2000 with ‘Style’ and became a popular face with his acting chops in films like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ and ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’.
On the other hand Arjun, who belongs to the other Kapoor khaandaan
of B-town, has been in limelight since his debut flick ‘Ishaqzaade’ and is best known for playing the rough-and-tough hero who has grey shades to his character.
But there’s one man connecting these two lives- Chetan Bhagat!
Both Sharman and Arjun have worked in two films each which are an on-screen adaptations of the author’s bestselling novels!
While Sharman played the lead in ‘Hello’, which was based on Bhagat’s ‘One Night @ the Call Center’, he also starred in the much-loved ‘3 Idiots’ which was loosely based on ‘Five Point Someone’.
The young Kapoor lad, on the other hand, struck gold at the box office in 2014 with his Alia Bhatt starrer ‘2 States’ which was the official on-screen adaptation of Bhagat’s novel of the same name; and will be next seen in ‘Half Girlfriend’ opposite Shraddha Kapoor- which too is an on-screen adaptation of the author’s last novel.
Hai na kamaal ka connection?
Another person, who could have made it into the list, is Rajkummar Rao! Oh yes, the versatile National Award winning actor has been a part of ‘Kai Po Che’, which was an adaptation of ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’, and was being considered to play the lead in ‘Revolution 2020’- a project that probably got shelved and one never heard of again!
