Star Cast: Vidyut Jammwal, Adah Sharma, Esha Gupta and Freddy Daruwala
Director: Deven Bhojani
Producer: Vipul Amrutlal Shah
Claps for: Vidyut Jammwal’s action stunts
Slaps for: Direction, Performances and Storyline
What’s New: Nothing
Popcorn Refill: Interval
Plot: As Demonetization starts affecting the rich and poor classes of the nation, the government catches hold of Vicky Chaddha- the man responsible for handling and transferring crores of the upper class and corrupt politicians to the foreign banks.
And the task to bring him back to India is given to a special team with inspector Bakhtawar as the head. How ‘Commando’ Karan ensures he becomes a part of the team and brings back Chaddha without any harm is what this action-drama is all about.
Performances: Vidyut Jammwal delivers what was expected from him - performing bone crunching and jaw dropping stunts, and flaunting his abs and biceps time and again. He carries the entire film on his shoulders as the true-blue action hero. Sadly, he hardly scores any points in the acting department.
Adah Sharma entertains with her rowdy style and South Indian accent. However, the script doesn't allow her to do much.
Freddy Daruwala prefers to remain expressionless throughout the movie.
And yet another disappointing performance by Esha Gupta.
About The Movie: ‘Commando’ was one amazing movie with brilliant action sequences, a truly badass villain and lovely chemistry between the lead pair. Despite being made on a small budget, the simple movie had all rooting for the sequel to it.
Sadly, ‘Commando 2’ isn’t even half of what the first film in the franchise was. The way-too-stretched action scenes get tiring after a while. The characters are half-baked and predictable.
Neither does the story pack a punch, nor do any of the performances stand out.
The film will keep reminding you of John Abraham starrer ‘Force 2’ time and again.
This one’s surely not wasting your money over.... black or white!
Combo-On-Offer: Action + Thriller
Verdict: We give Commando 2 SLAPS for not living up to the expectations.
