Dwayne Johnson also known as “The Rock†started his career as a wrestler in the wildly popular World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Before this, he also had a stint as a football player at University level where he was part of the National Championship winning team. Coming from a family of professional wrestlers, he decided to join the WWE(then WWF) and soon The Rock had become one of the best wrestlers and his fan ratings had gone over the top. His sheer determination and passion seemed to never dim. In 2002, he was offered the movie The Scorpion King for which he was paid 5.5 million US dollars which got registered as a World Record as this was the highest amount paid to an actor in his first leading role.
Since then, Dwayne Johnson started frequently appearing in movies and his WWE commitments started decreasing. He has done some well acclaimed movies like Gridiron Gang which is a movie inspired from the true story of the team Kilpatrick Mustangs, Fast 5 and Fast and Furious 6 where he became an important part of the series, G.I.Joe Retaliation where he played the lead character and also in Journey 2 - The Mysterious Island. He was also appreciated for his role in The Game Plan which was a lot different from his action star image, Like in the WWE, it is safe to say that his charisma and personality has worked in Hollywood too.
Not just that Dwayne has always been humble enough to take offers from different TV Series too, he has done guest appearances in “Wizards of Waverly Place†and “Saturday Night Liveâ€. His autobiography The Rock Says… which came out in the year 2000, was at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for several weeks.
