Movie Review: Dilwale is a complete entertainer that will make you laugh, cry and fall in love!
Here’s a movie that has all the elements to make it a perfect family entertainer- the right amount of romance, comedy, drama, action and emotions. Check out what makes this movie worth every penny!

Star Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Sanjai Mishra, Johnny Lever, Boman Irani, Varun Sharma, Chetna Pande, Vinod Khanna, Pankaj Tripathi, Mukesh Tiwari, Kabir Bedi and Nawab Shah.

Director: Rohit Shetty

Producer: Red Chillies Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Productions

Claps For: Performances, Cinematography, Internationally styled stunts, Comedy Scenes, Dialogues and Songs.

Slaps For: Dragged 1st half towards the interval

What’s New: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s less melodramatic romance, unlike their previous flicks; yet magical.

Popcorn Refill: Strictly Interval

Story: Veer is a happy-go-lucky person who has fallen in love with Ishita. However, there is one person he loves more than Ishita- his big brother Raj. Things remain fine between the three with Raj giving his approval to their relationship. However, things take a turn when Raj meets Ishita’s sister- a woman he had fallen for and got betrayed by many years ago…or to be precise “15 saal, 4 mahine…10 din”! What follows next is how the two sort out their differences and re-unite again for the sake of their siblings…and for the sake of their own love to become the ‘Dilwale’.

Performance: Shah Rukh Khan’s magic works once again! He is extremely adorable as the young lover 15 years ago, who makes sure his 5 minute date is well-spent; and equally charming and romantic as the intense and brooding lover 15 years later, who still waits for the love of his life to get back. One just cannot miss out his scenes with Varun Dhawan where he acts like the perfect caring and protective brother. His expressions while being sarcastic are worth the watch and will surely make the audience laugh! It had been a long time since we had seen him play the perfect son, the perfect lover and the perfect brother…. But with Dilwale, that wait comes to an end and how!

Varun Dhawan is undoubtedly the surprise package of the film. He is completely amazing in the comedy scenes, and equally brilliant during his bromance scenes with SRK. Yes, we know Shah Rukh Khan can make the viewers cry but here is another actor, who can do the same and that too while sharing the frame with him! His young and refreshing energy gives the movie a different take and makes it even more enjoyable. Never before have I missed any actor’s presence when SRK and Kajol are together…but Varun has proved to be an exception!

Kajol is a complete delight to watch. Her character has so many layers to it, but she portrays it all with such perfection. There are scenes where she will shock the viewers. And then, there are scenes where she would make them fall in love with her, all over again.

Kriti Sanon looks gorgeous and does a lovely job. She plays the typical Rohit Shetty heroine with the girl-next-door charm. However, I wish she had a meatier role…

The romance between SRK and Kajol is very different, intense and less melodramatic from what we have seen over the years; but still manages to cast a magical spell over the audience.

And this review cannot end without special mentions for the men who made me smile and laugh throughout the movie- Sanjai Mishra, Johnny Lever, Varun Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Mukesh Tiwari and Boman Irani.

It was a delight to see Vinod Khanna and Kabir Bedi on-screen after a long time!

Director: Usually when a director-actor Jodi come together, they rely on the same old formula to make the movie another blockbuster. But ‘Dilwale’ proves to be an exception! This one is completely different from their last outing ‘Chennai Express’. Hats off to Rohit Shetty for moving out of his comfort zone and presenting a movie that is a refreshing family drama, has intense as well as young romance to it but yet has the typical Rohit Shetty isshtyled spices of action scenes, car stunts and comic scenes added to it!

His own take to the bromance between the brothers, the romance between the two couples and bonding between the friends makes this one way too different from what other family entertainers are about! The action scenes are internationally styled; the editing is crisp and the songs are a treat to watch. This one is yet another surprise from Rohit Shetty and his team! The first half begins with a bang and loads of jokes but one might feel that the movie gets a little dragged towards the Interval. However, the twists and turns will keep you seated. But then comes the dhamaakedaar second half, which has everything you had been waiting for- and leaves a smile on your face by the end of it all.

Combo-On-Offer: Drama + Comedy + Action + Romance + Emotions + Entertainment

Verdict: We give Dilwale CLAPS for being a true-blue family entertainer that will make you laugh, cry and fall in love!
