The trailer of the much awaited movie ‘Drishyam’ is finally out! The film stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor in principal roles and is directed by Nishikant Kamat, director of Force and Mumbai Meri Jaan. ‘Drishyam’ is the remake of the widely acclaimed Malayalam movie of the same name which starred iconic actor Mohanlal. The movie was remade in Telugu and Kannada as well, with the Tamil remake starring Kamal Haasan set to release on July 17th this year.
The movie showcases the life of Vijay Salgaonkar, a fourth standard educated cable operator living in Goa essayed by Ajay Devgn. Southern siren Shriya Saran plays his wife and they have two daughters leading a simple existence. Their life is seemingly turned upside down by the disappearance of a boy who happens to be the son of a high-ranking Police officer played by Tabu. It is seen that Vijay and his family are investigated by the Police for this and to understand the connection, you will have to watch the movie!
The trailer does look intriguing and interesting with a totally different feel to it unlike any other Bollywood movie. Ajay Devgn looks like he is at home doing such a role, which is a relief from his disastrous outings in Action Jackson and Himmatwala. With an excellent supporting cast consisting of Tabu and Rajat Kapoor, the movie does have the potential to be a commercial and critical success. This one’s for the family and with Southern audience raving in unison to their respective versions, it will be okay to have decent expectations from this one too.
As for giving the trailer Claps or Slaps, we give Claps even if the trailer feels like it has revealed a bit too much!
