Sooraj was arrested for abetting suicide of his then girlfriend Jiah Khan. Ever since his name was dragged in the controversy he had to stay away from limelight. But now that he is awaiting the release of his launch vehicle 'Hero',Sooraj looks talks to us about how he has learned from his mistakes and is looking forward for a bright career ahead.
“I could not believe my ears when Salman Khan called me up and asked me to star in 'Hero'. I was assisting Kabir Khan on the sets of 'Ek ThaTiger ' and was not really looking at acting assignments. But I decided to take it up as I believe that if I had to be a part of a remake, it could not have been better than Jackie Shroff's 'Hero'.
Talking about the controversy, we can see it still affects him and he says, “ It is all in the past. We all make mistakes and we are punished for our wrongs. But sadly in this country, everytime something bad happens to a girl, it is the boy who is blamed for it.“
When we asked if he has signed anymore projects he says, “ I shall be starting work by the end of this month as I can't wait to be on film sets once again. I can't stay away from films for long.“
Nevertheless we hope Sooraj has indeed put the past behind him and is looking forward for a fresh new start in life
