Vidhu Vinod Chopra is known for giving Bollywood some of its most memorable fiction tales. As a film-producer, Chopra has produced superhits like 'Munnabhai MBBS', '3 Idiots', 'Parinda', '1942-A Love Story' and 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'.
But there were times when he failed too and delivered box-office duds. Not that they were necessarily bad, it just didn't click that time due to different reasons. Here are they:
Directed by Chopra himself, the film had a huge star cast of talented actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Amol Palekar, Shabana Azmi, etc. and was also the first film to be produced by Vinod Chopra Films. The film, being an unconventional one, had a small release and was declared a flop. Surely, things got bigger and better when Chopra released 'Parinda' four years later.
A love story directed and produced by Chopra, met a similar fate as his first film. Though the music of the film was appreciated, the pace of the film wasn't.
3.Eklavya- The Royal Guard:
Looks like every time Chopra decides to sit on the director's chair, he ends up giving a major dud. And Eklavya was another such movie that promised to be huge due to its big star cast and promising promotions, but ended up being just another box-office failure.
4.Ferrari Ki Sawaari:
Ferrari Ki Sawaari was the next movie by Vinod Chopra Films right after the All Time Blockbuster '3 Idiots'. The movie carried with it a huge responsibility and was being considered as the next fun-filled ride. Adding to it was the suspense if Sachin Tendulkar would be seen making his first on-screen debut. Sadly, despite receiving positive critics review, the movie failed to make a mark. Even Vidya Balan's item song could not help!
Well, Chopra has surely been a man of extremes. Either his movies have been huge hits or huge flops. So, let's wait till 19th December to find out which extreme side does the much-anticipated 'P.K' belongs to.
