Movie name: Gollu Aur Pappu
Cast: Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapur, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Tijori, Karishma Tanna
Director: Kabir Sadanand
Claps for: Having the theatre for all by myself!
Slaps for: Turning the above into a crappy experience!
Story: Once upon a time there were two innocent boys named Gollu and Pappu who loved their mother very much. A man named Gustakh asked them to go ahead with his plan of Gustakhi (In this case, planting a bomb). With such innocence in their mind and love in their hearts will they kill innocent people? Or will they turn the bomb off? Why are they doing this? Why did I watch the film? These are questions you may never get an answer to. You'll have to meet 'Gollu Aur Pappu' in theatres to know. Will you dare to go?
Direction: Kabir Sadanand tried his best to make this film an entertaining watch, but failed. It doesn't manage to hold your attention through many parts. The final sequence was fine and was the only part that had our eyes glued to the screen. In an empty theatre when a bomb is about to go off in a minute on screen, you begin to feel like you're a part of it. One whole minute of intensity; can you handle it?
Performances: Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapur were decent in whatever their role required, acting stupid. Dimple Kapadia had a nice and raw village accent on which went perfectly with her role. Deepak Tijori did just fine as the villain in the film. Karishma Tanna flipped her hair occasionally.
Combo on offer: Gollu+ Pappu= Do you want them?
Final verdict: We give this film slaps, in case you haven't already realized.
