Job interviews can be tough, almost like asking your dream girl boy on a date. Have you ever felt like saying 'Aata Majhi Satakli', when they never call after saying 'we will get back to you' with a smile on their face? If you've had bad experiences with job interviews or are preparing for one, here are a few tips from Bollywood that will help you get past the horror and land the job of your dreams. With just a few filmy principles, you my friend will be prepared to rock any interview.
Prepare to wake up like a boss
Remember that scene when Om (SRK) wakes up in 'Om Shanti Om' with everything perfectly set to make him feel like a king? All you will need is fluffy slippers and a silken robe (Your favorite jacket will do). For added effect you can keep a bowl full of exotic fruits on your bedside table. How you feel when you wake up makes a big difference to the rest of your day. Add other things if you've got the time and patience, make it grand!
Dress to impress
Although you don't want to overdress, you want to stand out among other people at the interview. Sticky situation? No problem.. First, look for pictures of Deepika Padukone and deeply stare at them. Now look at pictures of 'Deepika Padukone without make-up' and repeat the process. Kudos! Now you know what not to do and get it right.
Make an entry
First impressions last so make a powerful entry. But, if you go through anything embarrassing, just remember how Deepika's embarrassing fall after entering the audition hall. Also remember that her character went on to bag the role after this scene in the film. You can make it right.
Look them in the eye
When your interview has finally begun, don't forget to maintain eye contact. But if you're a little nervous of the interviewer, just remember the tune, 'Aankhon mein teri ajab si ajab si adaayein hai', and everything will seem better.
When in doubt, remember the 'Kainaat..' dialogue
'Kehte hai agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho, toh poori kaynath tumhein usse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai...'
Remember this dialogue if:
-You're rejected by several rickshaw drivers before even getting to the interview. (We know this can cause temporary loss of confidence)
-You're stuck in a traffic jam and are afraid of being late for the interview
-The interviewer doesn't accept your salary demands.
-You hear the words, 'We will get back to you'. (Take note that these words are always said with the kindest smile.)
All the best!
