Life through the songs of 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'

Every Sikandar in this world goes through so much before being called so. Here is a series of songs that perfectly describe all the stages in life through the songs of 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', the movie that has a special place in our hearts.

Stage 1-The start of college "Humse Hai Sara Jahan” (Jatin-Lalit,Sadhana Sargam)

This song describes perfectly what you feel when you start your college life. The feeling of owning the whole world with your coolness and showing off every nice thing you've got is expressed through this song.

'Humse hai saara jahan

Humse hai saara jahan'

(That basically sums up the thoughts of most new college students)

Stage 2- Love "Pehla Nasha" (Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam)

With so many beauties and beautaas (beautifully handsome boys) showing off their coolness in college, love (infatuation) is bound to happen. This song is perfect for college couples dreaming of spending the rest of their lives together.

'Pehla Nasha...Pehla Hummar

Naya Pyaar Hai...Naya Intezaar

Karloo Mein Kya Apna Haal...

Mere Dile Bekaraar ...Tu Hi Bata....'

(Continue humming the song.. we know you love it..)

Stage 3- End of college, beginning of the real world "Arre Yaaron Mere Pyaaron" (Udit Narayan, Vijayeta Pandit)

All your college fantasies are crushed as realization hits you. To keep your 'Pehla Nasha', you need money in your pockets; even 10 times your pocket money won't help. So, you find a new job and hope your salary doubles every month.

Jawaan Ho Yaaron Ye Tumko Hua Kya

Aji Humko Dekho Zara

Zamaana Abhi Hai Khaali Haath

Na Honge Sada Ye Din Raat

Kabhi To Banegi Apni Baat

Arre Yaaron Mere Pyaaron Meri Maano Dildaaron

(These are high hopes and dreams even with empty pockets)

Stage 4- Simultaneous Loss of job and Pehla Nasha "Rooth Ke Humse" (Jatin Pandit)

This stage describes when things start to go wrong and suddenly you realize that college coolness doesn't work anymore. It could describe your sadness from things going wrong with your first job (likely chances) or your love and friends from college leaving you alone. This song perfectly fits the situation and gives you company while grieving over your loss.

'Ruthake hamase kahi jab chale jaaoge tum

Yeh na socha tha kabhi, itana yaad aaoge tum'

(Caution: Repeated listening of this song may increase your level of sadness. Just once would do the needful)

Stage 5- Getting back up & Settling down "Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander" (Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Jatin-Lalit)

After being through so much, you're stronger now. You're in this stage when you leave behind all that you've been through and take on real challenges in life and emerge as a winner in the end!

'Woh sikandar hi dosto kehlaata hai

Haari baaji ko jitana jise aata hai

(Niklenge maidaan mein jis din hum jhumake

Dharati dolegi yeh kadam chumake)

Woh sikandar hi dosto kehlaata hai'

(Yea that's it.. you may now go and live like a happily-ever-after sikandar)
