London Has Fallen Movie Review: A bag full of over-the-top action sequel
It starts with an unsuccessful drone strike at a lavish wedding of the daughter of Aamir Barkawi (Aboutboul), a fatal arms dealer, which only kills his family while Aamir and his sons escape with some major injuries. However, this failed attempt chalks out the blueprint of the road to vengeance.

Dozens of Londons’ prime tourist spots become soft targets when terrorists storm the city to assassinate world leaders. Nonetheless, the US President manages to merely escape this massacre thanks to his favorite security personnel, Gerard. Both Gerard and Eckhart eventually realize that the British security has been compromised and they can now only fall back on themselves and a MI6 agent as they try to get to safety, while the Vice President and his emergency ops team can merely pray and hope. What comes next are some inane chases, swift pulverization of city and bloody slaying. The same old story unfolds – the good brigade vs the kill them all goons.

Star Cast: Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell

Director: Babak Najafi

Screenplay: Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt, Chad St. John, Christian Gudegast

Producer: Gerard Butler, Mark Gill, Danny Lerner, Matt O'Toole, Alan Siegel, Les Weldon

Claps for: Brutal action and supporting cast

Slaps for: Over the top climax

Popcorn Refill: Strictly Interval

What’s New: Unbelievable breach of security in UK!

Story: Leaders from around the world arrive at London to bid a final farewell to the British Prime Minister. Little did they know about the ambush that awaits them. Despite maximum security measures in place, London was breached by terrorists which unleashed the prophecy of a horrendous future. It is up to Mike Banning, the White House security agent (Gerard) and Benjamin Asher, the US President (Eckhart) to put things back in place.

Performances: Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, and Radha Mitchell are back in action to continue their roles from Olympus Has Fallen (except Freeman who is promoted from a speaker to Vice President). A new addition to the team was Jackie Haley, who was some security adviser.

Gerard continues to be an action hero who slays, punches and kills terrorists big time and topped with his cheesy liners (“Get back to F**kheadistan or wherever you are from!”), this edition is undoubtedly a must see for his die hard fans. The President (Eckhart) also is thrown into the action mode in this edition whereas the Vice President (Freeman) has a smaller contribution although his mere presence is always a bliss.

Direction: The movie is an action fest with every action scene thrown in this vengeance fueled edition, which is really well shot specially the one’s where the world leaders are assassinated. However, the air borne combat was such a poor show of CGI that it not only damaged the historic British locations but also the scenes.

Combo-on-offer: Action, Drama, Adventure, Cheesy liners

Verdict: We give the movie CLAPS. If you have liked ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ then you will definitely like this edition as well. A must watch for action lovers and Gerard fans.
