Love stories aren't just mushy, they have that air of attracting tenderness and encourage the sentiment of hope, trust, faith, and emotional intelligence. Not all love stories let you build castles in air and give you unrealistic promise of a fairytale, coz real relations, as they say, need a lot of work, sailing through out-of-the-blue situations and tapestries of emotions. In the real world, love stories that have lasted a lifetime have not sprung out of whimsical fantasies and notions. A few movies inspire you to have deep faith in sacredness without giving you woolgathering moments.
Wake Up Sid
Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana sen starrer movie directed by Ayan Mukerji under the banner of Dharma Productions is a very sensible and earthy love story. Ranbir plays the role of a spoilt brat who is just in no mood to understand the responsibilities of an adult life. He randomly meets Konkana Sen at a party and enjoys her companionship. This is no story where you find fanciful, over the top romantic songs and dance sequences. It is a story any common man at a young age can relate to. The conflicts that arise due Sid's carefree attitude are true-to-life. A father who is worried about the freewheeling ways of his son who is constantly flunking his exams. His friendship with Konkana makes him see through emotions and grit that he never thought about before. The story also ends without any elaborate wedding climax when Ranbir proposes Konkana in the end. This is a sensible and a very offbeat Bollywood love story.

The kinds that you wouldn't mind installing in your ipod. Salman Khan is the 'King of Kitschyness.' This movie blends in the true emotions of a rural background where Sonakshi is toughened, given her circumstances. It does not draw empathy but respect to her character, which is serious and dutiful just like Chulbul Pandey.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Barfi is a very quirky love story set in the backdrop of Darjeeling. This movie was also nominated for the best foreign film category for the 85th Academy awards ceremony. Priyanka Chopra's role of an autistic girl was well received. Screenplay is original; however, the movie is a tab bit slow, nevertheless a good watch on a lazy afternoon. A story that can melt your emotions. It depicts the platonic feelings of Ranbir and Priyanka towards each other while Ranbir still finds himself mesmerized by IIeana aka Shruti in the film.
