Claps for : Having us question our existence and everything around us after leaving the theatre.
Slaps for: (Pass)
Popcorn refill: You don't wanna miss secrets of evolution in exchange of popcorn now, do you?
Performances: Words like 'Power-packed' and 'Thrilling action' fall flat in front of Scarlett Johansson's performance in this film. She was more than convincing as 'Lucy', the girl who knew what the world is struggling to know. The only time you could possibly take your eyes off her is when Morgan Freeman is in the frame; clever choice to have an acclaimed actor like him to divert attention from such a powerful role.
Story: It's not so much about the story of this film that will get you. Remember watching one of the episodes on Discovery channel about something you never knew before? This story builds the same interest that you would find in watching an episode titled, 'The average person uses 10% of their brain capacity. Imagine what she could do with 100%'. Well that's pretty long for a title, but you would watch it just to find out!
Direction: Loud and attention-seeking Claps to director Luc Besson for smoothly stitching the story onto all of the action and sci-fi elements we saw in the trailer. The direction for 'Lucy' does complete justice to the concept. He makes sure you're engrossed in every detail of this film. It would be ironic o say this but he has made this far-fetched sci-fi concept look as real as it can get.
Combo on offer: This film offers the following combo offer:
Action + Sci-fi + Scarlett Johansson= Just watch it already!
Final Verdict: We give this film Claps for giving us something different, besides the usual action sequences, along with an intriguing enough concept to have people talk about it.
