Main Tera Hero starts with Varun Dhawan as Seenu being the menace of a quiet hill station. He decides to go to Bangalore to get a degree when his father tells him to join work the next day.
He leaves his hometown and arrives in Bangalore where he meets Sunaina played by Ileana D'Cruz. Seenu is head over heels the moment he sees her but there is a tiny little problem of a crazy lover (Angad) who would not let any other guy even talk to her. The tug of war between Seenu and Angad played by Arunoday Singh is the core of the first half. Sunaina is bowled over by Seenu and there is love in paradise.
Then enters Ayesha played by Nargis Fakhri whose father, played by Anupam Kher, is Asia's biggest gangster and would do anything for his daughter's happiness who is in love with Seenu. This is when the love triangle turns into a roller-coaster quadrangle.
The film is a typical David Dhawan comedy with insane situations. The story has some loopholes but the direction is good so they can go unnoticed. Certain moments like the “knock knock†jokes can get irritating and could have been avoided. The film is fast paced and doesn't have dull moments.
Varun Dhawan has performed Seenu's character like a breeze. His comic timing is excellent. Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri have glammed up the screen enough with their bikinis and short dresses. Anupam Kher as the nut job gangster is hilarious. Arunoday Roy is satisfactory in his role.
Sajid- Wajid's songs are high on energy and are all peppy. The background score goes fine with the story and is average.
Overall the film is a delight for people who like the David Dhawan brand of comedy, as it would be a sidesplitting experience. The film is high on energy and entertainment. Watch it for fun and a good time and try not to find too much logic in it.
We give Main Tera Hero Claps for Varun Dhawan's high-energy performance.
