Claps for- Making us feel the intensity people felt at actual matches of 'Mary Kom'.
-Priyanka Chopra's hard work to achieve that physique.
-Having the audience stand up once again in respect of the Indian National Anthem. (Watch the film and wait till the end of it, you'll know).
Slaps for: In-your-face product placements throughout the film.
Popcorn refill: Whenever you suspect a product placement; you'll have to be quick though.
Performances: Priyanka Chopra was obviously the highlight of this film and she ensured there would be no complaints about her playing the role of a champion boxer. We could see that she worked really hard for this role and made it look effortless. Darshan Kumar was decent in his performance; however we're not sure if this role was enough to land him other projects in Bollywood.
Direction: Omung Kumar beautifully put together the story of Mary Kom's struggle and success. Through his direction, the film has many moments that actually make you feel like you're a part of the audience sitting in the boxing arena on-screen. He manages to bring out the anxiety, the 'C'mon India you can do it' feeling and makes us feel proud of having such talent in our nation. The end of the film could have been better and seemed predictable, but then again it's a biopic, we already know what's about to happen.
Combo on offer: This film offers you the following combo-
Great motivation + Entertainment in the right amount + The true story of an Indian that made us proud = Go ahead, it's safe
Final verdict: We give this film Claps for delivering what we expected from the posters and the trailer.
