Some big starrers and some new comers, some big budgets and some small, all these movies are slated to release in the next three months. Some may flop or some may become hits with the potential to break records, like Shahrukh Khan's Diwali release 'Happy New Year' and Aamir Khan's much awaited end-of-the-year-release 'P.K'. We give you the list of all the upcoming films for the remainder of 2014 which we are really looking forward to:
Navneet Behal's film is all to set to release on 10th of this month. Tamanchey has Richa Chaddha of Gangs of Wasseypur and Fukrey fame with Nikhil Dwivedi, who's making a sort of a comeback, in the leads. The movie has a Northern India feel to it and its shot in there for a more authentic feel to it. The music is catchy and has been well received. There were some issues with the promotion of the film; nevertheless, the movie is expected to blow the audience away with its stars' performance.
2) Happy New Year-23rd October
It's a Farah Khan multi-starrer starring Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Naseeruddin's son Vivaan Shah. The movie's a mix of action, comedy and drama. From what we can gauge from the trailer is that the movie is about 6 people who after money and they're plotting a big robbery scene. The movie is expected to be a full-on masala entertainer! Whether they're successful or not, only after watching the movie will we come to know! This movie is expected to rake in the moolah at the box office.
3) Super Nani-24th October
It's directed by Indra Kumar starring Rekha after a very long time with Sharman Joshi, Randhir Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Shweta Kumar. It's a woman centric film conveying the power of a woman. A journey which might make a woman believe in her and the power she has within to rule her world. This movie is based on a famous Gujarati play 'Baa ae maari boundry'.
4) Rang Rasiya-7th November
It's a small budget film based on the life of the 19th century Indian Painter Raja Ravi Varma. The movie is directed by Ketan Mehta and it features Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen in principal roles. This film way back released in 2008 and has been showcased at various film festivals. The film did not release in India because of some scenes which were considered too bold for Indian audiences by the Censor Board. Now, after six years, the movie is all set to release in Indian theatres.
5) The Shaukeens-7th November
It's a naughty comedy directed by Abhishek Sharma, starring Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor Piyush Mishra and Lisa Haydon in the lead. Akshay Kumar is also a part of this movie. This film is a remake of the 1982 comedy 'Shaukeen' which was directed by Basu Chatterjee. Initially, Lisa Haydon's role was offered to Nargis Fakhri but because of some date issues, she was replaced. However, this movie is supposed to do well due to the presence of strong actors.
6) Kill Dil-14th November
It's a Yash Raj film directed by Shaad Ali starring Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar, Parineeti Chopra and Govinda. The movie is supposed to be a romantic action thriller. It's a story of two kids who were abandoned when they were young and were given shelter by Govinda's character, only to grow up as trained killers. Everything's 'normal' in their lives until Parineeti's character comes into their lives.
7) Ungli-28th November
It's a Karan Johar film directed by Rensil D'silva starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Dutt. Due to some unforeseen circumstances the movie was delayed for almost a year. It's about people taking a stand against corruption in their own, radical way!
8) P.K-19th December
It's another Rajkumar Hirani film featuring Aamir Khan. He and Anushka Sharma are in the lead along with Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Sanjay Dutt and Rukhsar Rehman. It's a comedy drama slated to release on 19th December. Definitely, the most awaited film of the year.
