Movie: Bang Bang!
Starcast: Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Danny Denzongpa
Claps for: All the 'Bangs!'
Slaps for: All the 'Blahs' interrupting
Popcorn refill: Anytime, it's the same throughout..
Story: This is the story of 'Rajveer', who has stolen the world's finest diamond- 'The Kohinoor'. He comes across Harleen who is dragged into a series of events with him as they fall in love while saving the precious stone. The story showcases a chase that involves many men after Rajveer, to ultimately catch hold of the Kohinoor. Many parts of the story seem inspired (you know what we mean) by other Hollywood films; leave alone 'Knight and Day'.
Performances: Hrithik Roshan stole the show and was the centre of attention throughout the film. Even with sizzling Katrina in the frame, Hrithik's stellar performance is worth mentioning; perfect for the role. Katrina on the other hand, did nothing but sizzle.. No acting just sizzling! Danny Denzongpa and Jaaved Jaffrey played similar roles and were decent in their performance.
Direction: Siddharth Anand who managed to catch people's attention with the teaser trailer, caught our attention whenever we related to any scene from the trailer. The rest of the film just trails along. Though there were many chase sequences, he didn't manage to increase the required anticipation as the plot progressed. No doubt, Hrithik was perfect and leaves us with no room for complaints; the director could have worked better to rearrange this film in a way that it would feel like a smooth yet thrilling roller coaster ride.
Combo on offer: This film offers you the following combo-
Clap-worthy action scenes + A great performance by Hrithik+ Déjà vu (When it feels like 'Haven't I seen this before') = You won't suffer, but don't expect to be blown away..
Final verdict: We give this film Claps, through all the loopholes in the plot and that missing something in the direction; it reminded us of 'Dhoom'. 'Dhoom Dhoom'.. 'Bang Bang'.. It always works in Bollywood.. No??
