Story: Earth sends feeds of classic arcade games up in the space to the aliens. However, they interpret those arcade games as a threat to themselves and create villains modeled around those video game characters! And the only people who can save the world from this alien assault are the men who were the champions at these games themselves! So brace yourselves to fight against your beloved Pac-Man, Mario and many more!
Performances: Adam Sandler is at his usual best, playing the calm and funny guy who loves being with his friends, fights against the villains and flirts with the woman he loves!
Kevin James as the President is cool and funny! He comes across as the man who very well handles his responsibilities along with his personal equations with his friends and love interest.
Peter Dinklage is a treat to watch! He is funny and delivers dialogues in a different way! Dinklage’s expressions are worth the watch! He can be the good guy, the funny guy and the negative guy- all at once and still be the best.
Josh Gad plays his part with perfection as the nerd video-game lover who is obsessed with Lady Lisa from Dojo Quest.
Michelle Monaghan looks gorgeous and even though the script doesn’t require much from he plays her, she plays her part very well!
Sean Bean, for a change, doesn’t die in his small but funny appearance,
Direction: Wonderful job by the director! He doesn’t make the movie a comedy with nonsensical characters or scenes but with humorous dialogues. He doesn’t make the arcade game models look villainous or negative, but makes sure they look like the ones who can create havoc and need to be destroyed! The story-telling is short and cute; and he doesn’t drag the movie or take it into any other mood/genre at any point of time. Keeping the natural essence of the scene as well as the effects of the video game must have a been a huge task, but Chris and his entire team does that with ease and perfection! Plus, the end credits too are a lot of fun!
