Okay folks, we are starting with something new. We have decided to select a random movie from a random list that we randomly created (phew we are really getting random now) and write a review on that movie. The main purpose of this randomness is that we can tell you about movies in the past which were worth watching.
So the random pick of the week is OMG (not the expression the movie OMG).
The movie revolves around an atheist Kanjilal whose shop shatters due to an earthquake, with the insurance company not claiming his insurance he decides to drag the almighty into the court. Religious heads are called on behalf of the almighty who cannot appear himself and what follows next is Kanjilal mocking every other religious head followed by a justification that even leaves you speechless. Of course you also have Akki in the movie playing God's role helping Kanjilal (as a god his driving skills are commendable).
In the end you have Kanjilal abolishing all malpractices (at least in the movie) and befriend God.
More than creativity it takes great courage to make such a movie in India, a country blinded by religion. The so called rituals and practices of almost all religions have been taunted but at the same time covered up with exceptional arguments which have no answer to. Paresh Rawal did an outstanding job and he deserved an award for his performance. A witty play turned into a movie which makes you question the presence of the Almighty.
