After playing several romantic roles and doing the action punches, Ranveer Singh is attempting something very different in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' where he is essaying the role of a historical character of that of Peshwa Bajirao for the first time.
At the poster launch event of the film when asked about how similar is he in real life to his on-screen character, Ranveer said, "No, this is the most distinctly different character from my own personality. 'Bajirao' is a person who lived his life in the 1700's long time ago with a very different mindset and temperament with drama in his life."
Revealing further about how he prepped up to get into the skin of his role, the actor further added, "It is something which I have never attempted before, something that I am very happy that I got to do but definitely the most different from who I am and which is why I had to get into very deep characterization so the prep period was very intensive. I locked myself in a hotel room for about three weeks just to try and create a character, to get away from my familiar surroundings and see if I can come up with something new and someone new. I am glad I did that because it helped me a lot."
'Bajirao Mastani' has Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra as the leading ladies. The film is slated to hit the theatrical screens on 18th December 2015.
