Saif Ali Khan is in a happy space, what with his latest film Happy Ending opening to positive reviews. While most of his films have released on a normal weekend, we probe him how does he react to the trend of bigger stars releasing their films on extended weekends?
“I think their monopoly is good for them. Stars in position will use that (releasing their films on festive weekends) to their benefit. They are big stars, people want to see their films. Then why not see that on a holiday. It's a fair market, a democratic profession. People are given what they want,†revealed Saif.
He added further, “On a holiday, they would prefer a Salman Khan film over an art film. Everyone would like to release their film on a holiday because the collections are so ridiculously higher. In my 22 years, I have only had Race 2 that was a holiday release and it opened massive. And the top guys will take the slots, it won't always be fair.â€
Saif's Happy Ending starring Ileana D'Cruz, Govinda, Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey hit the theatres on November 21, 2014. The film is directed by Raj and DK.
