Bollywood's love saga 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' completed its 1000 weeks run at the box-office and created history in Indian Cinema. To celebrate this occasion, lead actors of the film Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol came together and relived the moment.
Both SRK and Kajol visited Mumbai's theatre Maratha Mandir where the film has been running for 20 years and interacted with the fans and the media. Amongst all the frenzy, SRK took the opportunity to thank the makers of DDLJ and praised his co-star and 'wonderful little friend' Kajol.
“'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' wouldn't have been possible without Aditya Chopra, Yash Chopra Ji and you all (fans), but, for me, whenever I have heard this story, because it was a very modern take of everything that happened and this is a 20 year old film, the whole film revolved around only one character. We all were trying, not only to woo, but to respect, love and actually make a point through that one character and it would not have been possible if that character were not played by Kajol. The film was about Simran & will always remain about Simran,†expressed SRK.
He added further, “Her simplicity & unaffectedness, is not just acting, but the way she is. Not only as a friend, as a co-actor, or as Ajay Devgn's wife, not only is she a mother to her children, not only as a daughter to her mother, I am saying something very personal, she may be a little awkward about it, but, I'll say, her acting in the film is not acting, this is the way she is. She is purity personified. And the films purity & beauty comes from her.â€
Hearing Bollywood Badshah praise her so much, the pretty actress got a little emotional and teary eyed. To make her feel better, SRK later quipped, “I have said enough. Now I will pass on the mic to Kajol so that she can talk good things about me.â€
Well, SRK indeed knows how to make a woman feel special!
