Story: The Force Awakens picks up the intergalactic story of good against evil 30 years on from The Return of the Jedi — the finale of the original trilogy. The story starts from the deserted planet called Jakku. Jakku is a part of the empire of First Order. Finn, a person who supports Resistance but doesn’t want to be the part of it meets Rey, a tough scavenger. Both assist Han Solo to get whereabouts of the last Jedi knight, Luke Skywalker. Resistance force enters in the movie just before the interval and end the first half at high note. Kylo Ren seems the upgraded version of Darth Vader who captures Ray to retrieve the information about Resistance and Han Solo. As expected, Resistance force goes to fight against First Order to rescue Ray and save the galactic government colonials who are facing threat from the deadly weapon possessed by First Order. A sudden twists and turns during the expected climax adds real thrill in the movie.
Performances: The performances by Ray (Daisy Ridley) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) are commendable. Also, they are assisted brilliantly by Finn (John Boyega), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) set his own benchmark to perform the extended role of Darth Vader. Background cast has also performed their small but pivotal roles brilliantly and does justice to the storyline.
Direction: The direction gives you the reminiscence of all the previous episodes of this iconic franchise. J. J. Abrams’ direction justifies the cinematic brilliance of the movie. He bestows his creativity in spite of too clichéd story plot. The unique combination of humor and action makes you watching the movie one more time.
