We agree that 2015 gave us many delightful movies to cherish. However, we just cannot forget those movies which made huge promises but ended up being nothing but a huge disappointment. And it’s not just we who say so…. even the janta regretted their decision of wasting their hard-earned money on such films! Based on their reviews and ratings on our website, here are the movies they gave SLAPS to:
A movie where Arjun Kapoor decided to go the Salman way and Sonakshi yet again played the role of a damsel in distress. Even his tribute to Salman Khan as ‘Superman…Salman Ka Fan’ couldn’t save the movie from getting slammed by the public and critics alike.
2. Dharam Sankat Mein:
With a star cast like Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah and Annu Kapoor, and the tag line reading “From the makers of OMG- Oh My God”, one had surely expected the movie to be yet another delightful eye-opener. However, the movie just ended up being a messed up affair.
3. Dolly Ki Doli:
A movie where Pulkit Samrat was busy imitating Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor trying hard to act; a talent like Rajkummar Rao got wasted.
Despite chartbuster songs, two heartthrobs and the gorgeous leading lady, ‘Roy’ failed to impress the audience for being a “slow” and “way too dragged” movie.
5. Welcome To Karachi:
Because Jaccky Bhagnani.
6. Dil Dhadakne Do:
Zoya Akhtar’s formula of her previous film along with a huge star cast failed to make any one’s heart beat for the movie. It was rather termed as a pointless and messy affair.
Even Ayushmann Khurrana’s splendid performance couldn’t save this movie, which concentrated on everything else but how Shivkar Bapuji Talpade built world’s first plane, from tanking at the box office.
8. Mr. X:
Even the public decided to stay invisible in the cinema halls when this movie was being screened.
When Salman Khan’s much-hyped protégés failed to emote on-screen.
A move that begun with a bang but ended with a whimper.
R. Balki’s ambitious project failed to be larger than life and convince the audiences, despite excellent performances by Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush.
Conclusion after watching Brothers- Bollywood should never remake Hollywood movies. And surely not spoil it by adding excessive melodrama and emotions.
13. Welcome Back:
The sequel was Welcomed Back…with SLAPS.
Despite all the hype and curiosity around the movie, Shaandaar ended up being not-so-Shaandaar decision of Shahid and Alia’s career.
15. Main Aur Charles:
Watching Randeep Hooda deliver yet another career-defining performance in this boring and slow movie made the entire nation empathize with him.
16. Calendar Girls:
A movie where even the hotness quotient of 5 girls failed to excite the viewers!
17. All Is Well:
Perhaps the only saving grace was the comic villain Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
18. Hamari Adhuri Kahani:
Emraan Hashmi. Vidya Balan. Rajkummar Rao. Sometimes, a movie just cannot remain dependent on performances.
19. Katti Batti:
Because Imran Khan. Period.
20. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo:
The magic of Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan failed and how! PRDP was nothing but 3 hours of pure boredom.
Who would have thought that the Jodi of SRK and Kajol, the charisma of Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon and the magic of Rohit Shetty would fail? Dilwale was undoubtedly the most awaited movie of 2015, and went on to become one of the biggest disappointments of the year!
Think we missed out on any movie? Tell us!
We hope we do not end up suffering more of such movies in 2016.
P.S: The ratings keep changing on real-time basis.
