You have adored them. You have connected with those characters and the way they handled a situation, which made them your hero. And hopefully they would be back again, in a new situation with perhaps more complications but still manage to win again. That's what a sequel is all about.
With Neeraj Pandey revealing his plans to make a sequel to his 2015 hit 'BABY' and release it by 2017, we look at the most-awaited sequels of Bollywood that we might get to see within the next two years.
1. Welcome Back:
The mad comic caper that managed to stand strong despite facing competition from a brilliant movie like 'Taare Zameen Par' is the proof of how amazing the movie was. And the adorable Uday Shetty and his right hand Majnu Bhai are back along with a huge starcast.
2. Don 3:
There have been many speculations about a third part to the hit franchise that keeps getting better with every movie. Who would have thought that this team, who were being criticized for remaking a 70's classic, would deliver such a big one; and not just that, but would end up creating a brilliant sequel to their blockbuster movie too?!
3. Dabangg 3:
If only Salman's kitty isn't full with other movie offers, we would see him reprise his role as the adorable, funny and angry Chulbul Pandey who delivers brilliant one-liners and smashes his enemies with just a single punch!
4. Kick 2:
Here is one sequel no one except the die-hard Salman fans would want because 'Kick' was all about Salman, Salman and Salman and had nothing to do with a story-script-direction.
5. Ghayal Returns:
After 25 years, Sunny paaji comes back as he brooding angry man who had the courage to fight against all odds to support what is right. 'Ghayal' was one of the biggest hits of its time; and we expect nothing short from this one too which might probably even end up being Sunny's first 100 Crore film.
6. ABCD 2:
'ABCD' was a treat for all the dance lovers across India. And the sequel gets even bigger. From the slums of Bandra to Las Vegas, the sequel has come a huge way; and with whom? Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor!
7. No Entry Mein Entry:
Another Salman sequel. The first one was a laughter riot about extra marital affairs. And this time, we have not one but three Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan and Salman Khan! Let's just hope this doesn't end up being the next 'Humshakals'!
8. Tanu Weds Manu 2:
After the adorable love story between R.Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut, the makers are coming back with a sequel to the original one with not one but two Kanganas!
9. Houseful 3:
It would be unfair to say “thank god Sajid is not directing this anymore†as he is responsible for making the first two instalments big hits. But given the way he has been directing movies lately, we are happy Saij-Farhad would be directing this comic-caper starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshkmukh and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles.
10. Hera Pheri 3:
Oh yes, Abhishek Bachchan is the BAAP of all when it comes to sequels. He has already done so many! And this time, the jodi of Abhishek and John would complete the incomplete Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and Shyaam as they search for the missing Raju (Akshay Kumar) in the third instalment to what is considered as one of India's best comedy films- 'Hera Pheri'.
Sadly in India, sequels have usually been disastrous and a shame to the original one. Let's hope these movies do justice and be better than its predecessor!
