Star Cast: Arshad Warsi, Jackky Bhagnani, Lauren Gottlieb, Dalip Tahil
Director: Ashish Mohan
Producer: Pooja Films
Claps For: Comedy in first half, Jackky Bhagnani
Slaps For: Script, Songs, Movie, editing
Popcorn Refill: interval
Story: Shammi Thakur (Arshad Warsi) and Kedar Patel (Jackky Bhagnani) are two buffoons good for nothing. While they are partying on a boat, a storm hits them and their boat drowns. However, the two survive the storm but end up reaching Karachi in Pakistan. From there starts their journey of confusion and whether they are successful in reaching India or no forms the main crux of the film.
Performance: Jackky Bhagnani does a decent job as Kedar Patel and is successful in making you laugh in bits and pieces. He is convincing as the dumb Gujarati boy. On the other hand Arshad Warsi is wasted in the film. His talent isn't utilized and you end up wondering why did he do the film?! However, he gives good support to Jackky. Lauren Gottlieb doesn't have much to do in the movie. In fact she is hardly present in the film.
Direction: Ashish Mohan gives you a decent first half in the film. He manages to make you laugh before the interval and builds the story well. But he fails in executing the movie post interval. The film goes haywire after the first hour. So much so that you end up thinking what exactly happened in the film? The use of real footage in the movie and songs was completely unnecessary.
Combo-on-Offer: Comedy + Drama
Verdict: We give the film Slaps for its silly content and brainless execution.
