Grace of Monaco is Yash Raj Films' first foray into production of International films.
Starring Nicole Kidman, Grace of Monaco is a semi-fictional segment of Hollywood actress Grace Kelly's life, i.e. a facet of her marriage to Prince Ranier of Monaco.
As repeatedly emphasised by director Oliver Dahan, and the royal family of Monaco itself, the film is not a biopic in any sense of the word. Grace of Monaco is a story woven to be a portrait of a modern woman who has always been in the limelight, and a perfect example of class while doing so.
If we're honest, Tim Roth seems to be regrettably mundane as Prince Rainer, as do the rest of the supporting cast. The only noticeable person in the whole movie is the lovely Nicole Kidman. It appears that she will carry the entire film on her shoulders alone.
Judging by the trailer, the movie does seem to be a promising one, reminiscent of the musical Evita. If only it lives up to such great expectations.
