Claps For: The amazing storyline
Slaps For: nothing
Popcorn Refill: not even one
The Story: In 2023, robots known as Sentinels are bent on
eliminating mutants and humans from the planet. But a bunch of X-Men manage to escape every time from the Sentinels' attack with the help of Kitty Pryde's (Ellen Paige) power, who has the ability to project a person's consciousness back in time and deliver warnings or messages. These X-Men team up with Magneto (Ian Mckellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) in China where they decide to send Wolverine to the past. Wolverine is entrusted with the task of altering history by preventing Mystique(Jennifer Lawrence) from murdering Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), the man behind the Sentinels, which is apparently the core reason for the mass extinction faced by humans and mutants alike. Simple, isn't it?
Performances: Days of Future Past delivers on all expectations. As always, Hugh Jackman shines as Wolverine. Despite having a small role in the movie, Evan Peters as Quicksilver grabs attention with his funny punches. The rest of the stellar cast which includes Ian Mckellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Ellen Paige and others (phew!), justify their part well.
Combo on offer: Bryan Singer weaves the movie back and forth beautifully, leaving no confusion for the viewer. With all the serious issues and destruction going around, Singer still manages to put in a few humorous scenes, completely blending with the flow of the movie. The movie is a roller coaster ride from future to past and then back to present with moments full of different emotions, ranging from terror to humor, fear to anger etc. The movie has an award winner in practically every frame! This is one sci-fi-superhero movie you don't want to miss.
Our Verdict: We give X-Men #Claps for living up to its promise and making it a very interesting watch.
