Star cast: Karanvir Sharma, Mannara and Shraddha Das
Director: Vivek Agnihotri
Producer: Anubhav Sinha
Claps for: absolutely nothing
Slaps for:making the film
Popcorn Refill: throughout the film, especially during the songs
Story: Zid is the story of Ronnie (Karanvir Sharma), who is a crime reporter in a leading daily in Goa, and his neighbor Maya (Mannara), who is obsessively in love with him. The couple, while returning from their first date, meet with an accident and kill a teenage girl, who happens to be Karan's ex-flame Priya's (Shraddha Das) sister Nancy. To avoid legal complications, Ronnie and Maya run away from the scene giving rise to lots of doubts, mystery and series of investigations.
Performances: Karanvir Sharma and Mannara fail to express in their debut film. While the actor does score points for being cute in certain scenes, Mannara is absolutely unbearable. Shraddha Das does good job in her role.
Direction: It is surprising to see a film like 'Zid' from a filmmaker like Vivek Agnihotri, who has in the past made films like 'Buddha In A Traffic Jam'. Vivek fails to hold on to the suspense and the film becomes quite predictable. 'Zid' could have been nice had the makers executed it in a better way. While it was watchable till the climax, the anti-climax just kills the film.
Combo on offer: Erotic + Thriller = You should rather go and sleep than watch this combo
Final Verdict: We give the film slaps for being stupid and abrupt!
