An alumnus of FTII, Sriram first started his career by making a documentary on the serial killer Raman Raghav. Impressed by this film, Ram Gopal Verma signed him to direct his dark thriller 'Ek Haseena Thi'. His next was 'Johnny Gaddar' which marked the debut of Neil Nitin Mukesh. This was followed by 'Agent Vinod' which failed to impress the audience. Sriram then directed the gritty thriller 'Badlapur' which had Varun Dhawan play a wronged man hell-bent on seeking revenge from his wife and kid's murderer.
