After Mardani, Rani to do a biopic on Haseena Parkar from the underworld?

Rani Mukerji who recently starred in Pradeep Sarkar's 'Mardaani', may soon be seen in a biopic on the life of Haseena Parkar. Rani might play the lead role portraying the real life character of the underworld queen that once was. This film will be directed by Apoorva Lakia who feels that Rani is best suited for this role, judging by her performance in Mardaani. Although Rani played the role of a cop in Mardaani, it will be interesting to watch her play a contrasting role.

Haseena Parkar was the sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. She passed away after suffering from a cardiac arrest in July this year.

This film is yet another addition to the series of biopics that Bollywood filmmakers are producing. It started with Farhan Akhtar starrer 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', which was followed by the recent 'Mary Kom' starring Priyanka Chopra. Although these films stand to be sports biopics, a project on the life of a person connected with the underworld beings a new twist to the line-up of biopics in Bollywood.
