It was announced that Saif Ali Khan will be starring in the Hindi remake of John Favreau's 'Chef'. Now the latest scoop we hear is that 'Airlift' director Raja Krishna Menon has been approached to direct the film.
The remake will be produced by Abundantia Entertainment, who also happen to be the producers of Airlift, Eros International and Alumbra Entertainment. When asked about it Raja was quoted as saying, "'Chef' is one of the scripts I am considering. I have seen the film and it is wonderful but I haven't decided anything yet. The other films that I am considering aren't remakes and they are scripts. It depends on what I can do on it. I will definitely not make a frame by frame remake of any film. I don't know how I can make it different and I will take all of this into consideration too before signing."
'Chef' revolves around a chef who loses his restaurant job and starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family. The original flick starred Jon Favreau, Sofía Vergara, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey, Jr.
