Double Oscar and Grammy winner A.R. Rahman has been nominated in the Oscars' Longlist for Best Original Song in 2014, not once but for four songs.
Rahman's Afreen from '100 Foot Journey' and three songs - Makhna, Million Dollar Dreams and We Could Be Kings from 'Million Dollar Arm' and 'Kochadaiiyaan' have made it to the long list of probable nominations for Best Original Score.
While Afreen is written by Gulzar and Rahman, it is sung by Nakash Aziz. Makhna has been crooned by Jai Ho singer Sukhwinder Singh and Neeti Mohan, whereas Million Dollar Dreams featuring Iggy Azalea and We Could Be Kings featuring KT Tunstall.
Apart from this, Girish Malik's National Award winning film 'Jal' has also made it to the long list of Best Picture. Singers Sonu Nigam and Bickram Ghosh also feature in the possible Original Score nominees for their soundtrack in Jal.
The nominations for Academy Awards will be announced on January 15, while the awards will be held on February 22, 2015.
