Salman Khan's film 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' has set the cash registers ringing at the box-office and now the Uttar Pradesh government has declared the film tax-free. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav made this declaration on Monday, three days after the release of the film. The film managed to collect 100 crores at the box-office in 3 days itself, making it the eighth film of Salman's to cross the 100 crore barrier.
The movie is shot largely in Uttar Pradesh as well as depicts the life in the state. Salman is shown playing a village simpleton who meets a mute girl from Pakistan and takes the responsibility of helping her return back to her motherland. Completely devoid of item songs, the movie is a complete family entertainment which prompted the UP CM to declare it tax-free owing to the film's increasing popularity across the nation.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.
