Bombay Velvet: Anushka Sharma lip-syncs to Geeta Dutt's iconic song Jaata Kahaan Hain Diwane

Remember the iconic number Jaata Kahaan Hain Diwane from Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman starrer ‘CID’? Well, the makers of the year’s one of the most awaited film ‘Bombay Velvet’ have got the rights of that song and will feature it in their movie.


The song, which was originally picturized on the legendary Waheeda Rehman, has been re-versioned with a more contemporary feel and has been picturized on Anushka Sharma who plays a 60s superstar singer named Rosie Noronha in ‘Bombay Velvet’. In fact, it is by singing Jaata Kahaan Hain that Rosie gets noticed as a singer in a club and becomes the marquee performer at Johnny Balraj's (played Ranbir Kapoor) ‘Bombay Velvet’.

Given the fact that the original song was a roaring super hit, one can expect the revised number to also rule the music charts! Well, looks like the makers of ‘Bombay Velvet’ are leaving no stones unturned to capture the look and feel of the era in which the film is set.


Set against the backdrop of ambition, love, greed, and jazz – ‘Bombay Velvet’ is the story of one ordinary man who goes against all odds and forges his destiny to become a ‘Big Shot’. Jazz clubs, a passionate love story, a growing metropolis and a phenomenal hunger for a good life. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, ‘Bombay Velvet’ also stars Karan Johar and is all set to release on May 15, 2015.
