It's good news for Director Farah Khan as the recent release 'Happy New Year' has entered the 200 crore club at the domestic box-office. With collections of approximately 200.50 crores nett, the film became a part of the 200 crore club of movies in its 3rd week of business. As the song 'Nonsense Ki Night' says 'All is in the well, if end is in the well', we guess this pretty much applies to the film.
This is the second film in which Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were paired together on-screen; an audience favourite it seems so. We should expect them to star in more films together. This film also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Jackie Shroff and Vivaan Shah. Though critics seemed to dislike the overdose of masala in the film, the audience found it entertaining.
After steadily earning through the first two weeks, its business slowed down owing to the release of 'The Shaukeens'. With the release of 'Kill Dill' this week, HNY is expected to fade away at the box-office. The film's lifetime business is expected to go up till 203 crores nett.
