Releasing this week is 'The Shaukeens' and 'Rang Rasiya' two movies that will go up against 'Happy New Year' which is still going strong at the box-office. The occupancy for 'The Shaukeens' was around 25% which suggests that the film has a slow start and is expected to pick up over the weekend. The box-office stats of this film will rise owing to a positive word of mouth.
Considering that Akshay Kumar is a part of the star cast, this could be an added advantage. However, it is known that Akshay doesn't play the lead role and this means that the film may not earn as much as other Akshay Kumar starrers do.
On the other hand Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen starrer 'Rang Rasiya' had an extremely poor start with occupancy of only 5%. This film directed by Ketan Mehta is a dramatized version of the story of Raja Ravi Varma, a famous Indian painter. A little different from the usual Bollywood masala films, it is yet to be seen if the audience accepts 'Rang Rasiya' over the weekend.
