Happy New Year has entered its second week and continues build on its bumper opening weekend collections. The Shahrukh Khan-starrer is steadily making its way towards the 200 cr mark and has simply swatted aside the competition this week. This weekend saw the release of the action-adventure 'Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans' and the family drama 'Super Nani'.
Roar garnered collections of around 5 cr in its first three days which is not much as it was expected to do a little better. Super Nani fared worse with collections of 2 cr. Veteran Rekha, who starred in Super Nani, was appreciated but it wasn't enough to get audiences flocking to the cinemas. Roar has a relatively unknown star cast but looks better visually. Both movies released this weekend have disappointed with Roar having fared slightly better than Super Nani with regard to box office collections.
This meant that Happy New Year enjoyed another good outing in its second weekend and it will be interesting to see how long the momentum lasts, especially with Akshay Kumar's 'The Shaukeens' and the much awaited Hollywood sci-fi thriller 'Interstellar' directed by Christopher Nolan.
