After spinning magic at the box office with 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns', Kangana Ranaut is back in news. Reports suggest that the actress has been roped in by Vishal Bhardwaj for his next project which also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
This love triangle, a period film which will be set in the World War II days, is titled 'Rangoon'. Bhardwaj's film will supposedly be on the lines of the 1942 Hollywood classic 'Casablanca'.
Speaking to a leading daily, Vishal said, "It's my most expensive film to date and will be my most musical."
The director shed some light on the subject of the film, too. He said, "If you visit a cemetery in Imphal, Manipur, you will see the graves of so many young soldiers who lost their lives in the Second World War. And the dark irony is that Indians were killing Indians because some of these soldiers fought for the British army against Subhash Chandra Bose's Indian National Army in Rangoon."
Saif has earlier worked with Bhardwaj in 'Omkara', his Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello; and Shahid was 'Haider' in the eponymous adaptation of Hamlet. This is the first time Shahid and Saif will be seen together on the silver screen.
We just can't wait to see the trio onscreen!
