The masses may refer to him as the Kolaveri Di singer, but Dhanush, the voice behind it, is completely fed up of this tag. The actor, who shot to instant fame with the chartbuster, admitted in an interview that he is tired of being tagged as the Kolaveri Di singer.
“Kolaveri Di was just an accident that happened and it could’ve happened to anybody and I am glad it happened to me. The song took place of its own and it just went off somewhere. Actually, the song refuses to leave me and I don’t know how to get rid of it. I am fed up of it,” quips Dhanush adding further, “Wherever I go, they ask me to sing at least two lines from it.”
Ask him how important role did Kolaveri Di play in his life and Dhanush reveals, “I don’t think it played any role in my career, but it played major role in getting me fame. I get recognized everywhere and yes at that point it plays an important role. But career wise, with or without Kolaveri Di, it’s the same.”
On a concluding note, quiz him if he would consider singing in Bollywood?
“See, first I am an actor and I don’t really know how to sing. For me singing or not singing in Bollywood is not the question, I first want to concentrate on Hindi films,” states the ‘Shamitabh’ actor.
