YRF's Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Dum Laga Ke Haisha has opened to good reviews and a positive word-of-mouth. After a low opening of around 1.1 crores on Friday, the collections picked up over the weekend. The 3-day collections for the Sharat Katariya-directed movie is reported to be in the region of 6-6.5 crores.
It is pretty decent considering the fact that the movie has a low screen count of around 770 only. It can be said that the movie has mainly had a multiplex release with very few single-screen count. It will be hitting more single screens later this week with no major releases scheduled for the extended Holi weekend. The collections for this movie are expected to rise further with a relatively free run in the opening two weeks of March.
The same can't be said of the other release this weekend, the Nana Patekar-starrer Ab Tak Chhhappan 2 which had a huge screen count of 1400 for a film which wasn't marketed as well. After having around a 1.4 crore opening day, which is low but was higher than Dum Laga Ke Haisha, the total weekend collections are in the region of around 5 crores. The reviews have generally been disappointing about this one and even with the extended run at the box office, not much can be expected.
