Haider: First day box-office reports

'Haider' performed decently well at the box-office on its opening day. This film which released on the second of October had a good chance at collections considering it was a holiday. A positive word of mouth pushed the box-office collections as the film picked up well through the evening and night shows in cinema halls. Even though it faced tough competition from Siddharth Anand's 'Bang Bang', this film managed to collect over 6.14 crores on its opening day.

Since this film was released in lesser screens as compared to 'Bang Bang', it was assumed that it wouldn't do well at the box-office. However, it has succeeded in impressing with its first day box-office stats.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, this film starred Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu in leading roles. Irrfan Khan also played an important role in the film. The film did mainly well in Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune. 'Haider' is expected to pick up pace with numbers at the box-office over the weekend.
