While the rest of the film-makers are busy making commercially successful movies, we have a director who has changed the way our movies were being made. In an era where masala films are ruling the roost, Vikramaditya Motwane dared to come up with a serious father-son drama, 'Udaan'; a small-budget movie that won millions of hearts and several awards.
Vikramaditya Motwane, born on 6th December 1976, is an Indian script-writer, producer and director who also is the co-owner of Phantom Films.
He created a huge stir with his very first film 'Udaan', a movie with crisp and international-styled direction coupled with terrific performances from its cast.
His second film 'Lootera' was a big-budget period-romance starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Although the movie was not a box-office success, it garned critical acclaim for its story-telling and performances.
While his next movie 'Bhavesh Joshi' starring Siddharth Malhotra is stuck in the pipeline even before the shooting could begin, he promises it to be another charming one that would connect with the common people.
So here's wishing the talented director a very Happy Birthday and lots of success.
