Happy New Year has galloped its way past the 150 cr mark domestically and has its sights firmly trained on the 200 cr mark. Shahrukh Khan has always had a good run in the past with Diwali releases and this time too, it is no different. The movie collected around 7 cr in its second Friday after release with collections expected to be steady this week too.
This week's releases have failed to excite the audience in any way and it doesn't look like they are going to affect Farah Khan-directed film's collections in any way possible. It can be said that the collections of HNY have slowed down a bit probably due to mixed reactions from the public and geerally unfavourable critic reviews. The record breaking opening for HNY has resulted in an explosive start which catapulted the movie to 150 cr in just one week!
It will be interesting to see whether the film can pick up momentum again this weekend and cross the coveted 200 cr mark.
